Well, I survived my first workout! The hubby and I are doing the Couch to 5k program right now to help get us ready for our half marathon. Today was Day 1 for us and we’re both still standing. We hauled the treadmill out of our storage area and lugged it into the living room. We officially have no excuses not to use it, especially since it stares us in the face the entire time we’re in the living room. Of course, when I suggested doing this months ago, the hubby didn’t like the idea. I guess when it’s his idea, it’s better. hehe He wrote out our treadmill workouts on a calendar for the next 8 weeks and we plan to do them the same day. I think right now we’re working towards working out in the evening. This is helpful for me as I have someone to make sure the boys are happy while I jog. I plan on supplementing with a Jillian Michaels DVD on my off days as my body needs the extra help. This baby was very, very hard on my body. It doesn’t help that he was almost 10 pounds!! Yikes!
We hopped on our Wii Fit tonight to lock in our weights so we can see our progress (nothing like having the TV tell you that you are obese). The hubby isn’t necessarily dieting, but the exercise alone should help him shed some weight. Hopefully he’ll adjust his lunches at work to help as well. Tomorrow I’ll be trying my first green smoothie as I attempt to incorporate some healthier food into my diet. I washed up my Romaine so it’s ready for the morning.
